The Scottish Court Service were keen to develop a situational judgement test that challenged common candidate misconceptions by clarifying at the start of the application process the typical types of situations individuals may face if working for us. Our recruitment is fully delegated to operational managers so we also needed a robust, fair and simple solution to help our managers select the best people from an ever increasing number of candidates.
Criterion undertook robust job analysis and really got to grips with understanding the complexities of our organisation and the requirements to perform well in our jobs. We have courts throughout Scotland and the Criterion team made sure they met with key staff members at a number of our locations across the country to ensure they captured any variances due to locality and size of court. The resulting analysis, reports and subsequent tests which were produced to the highest standard and were tailored specifically to our organisation. Criterion developed a portfolio of materials for our assessment centres that were designed for a number of different staff group. We informed them of the skills and competencies we needed to assess and they developed quality materials to meet each of our required needs.
